New motor, new chapter: Trek present two new eMTBs for the 2025 season, which both come equipped with the latest Bosch Performance Line CX motor. The Trek Rail+ and Trek Powerfly+ are designed to cover a wide range of applications, from trekking to trail riding. Here you’ll find out everything about the bikes!

Since its founding in 1976, the American bike manufacturer has steadily become a key player in the cycling world. With a wide range of products, including road bikes, mountain bikes, and kids’ bikes, and the backing of numerous racing teams across various bike disciplines, Trek have gained global recognition. In the e-mountainbike segment, the American brand is now launching two new models for the 2025 season, coinciding with the release of the latest Bosch Performance Line CX motor: the Trek Rail+ and Trek Powerfly+. Each bike is aimed at a different target group: the fully suspended Rail+ is designed for trail riders who prefer challenging descents and technical terrain. The Powerfly+, on the other hand, was developed for touring riders and adventurers seeking a versatile ebike for both on- and off-trail use. The Powerfly+ is available as a hardtail and a full-suspension bike, with additional models featuring mudguards and lights to make the bike suitable for everyday use.

We’ve put together a quick overview of the new bikes for you.

The new Trek Rail+ 2025

All eight versions of the Rail+ come equipped with the new Bosch Performance Line CX motor and a 800 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery. The drive is paired with a Bosch Mini Remote and Bosch System Controller on all models. The Rail+ is also compatible with the Bosch Range Extender.

The Rail+ 5 and Rail+ 8 rely on an aluminium frame, while the Rail+ 9.7, Rail+ 9.8 XT, Rail+ 9.8 GXS AXS, and the Rail+ X0 AXS, along with the Rail+ 9.9 XX AXS flagship model, feature a carbon frame. Prices for the Trek Rail+ start at € 5,499 for the Rail+ 5 version, going up to € 12,999 for the top-tier model.

Meanwhile, the new Rail+ is aimed at sporty riders who frequently tackle technical terrain. We’re especially keen to see how the mullet wheel setup impacts the bike’s performance. Both bikes look very promising, and we can’t wait to get our hands on them for testing to see how they perform on trails and long rides. Stay tuned for our full review!
